Sunday 15th February, Clasica de Almeria saw Mark Cavendish clinch his fifth 2015 Victory ahead of Juan Jose Lobato and team mate Mark Renshaw, who made a very respectable third place, taking the bunch sprint at the final stage of the race.

“Yesterday I didn’t really feel good during the race at Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia, but today the team was really motivated,” Cavendish said. “We started riding from kilometer zero. We were always in front, in the first 10 positions of the group the entire race.”

The 183.3Km UCI 1.1 ranked Spanish race was a glorious start to Cavendish’s racing season with Etixx-QuickStep. At 29, Cavendish is showing continued good form and his latest success signals his winning need to take the top title at Milan-San Remo on 22nd March 2015.
