Galashiels is a town in Selkirkshire, Scotland. Situated on the Gala Water close to its meeting with the River Tweed, Galashiels was once had a successful textile industry and its influence is evident around about the town. Galashiels most prominent feature is the war memorial complete Reiver Horseman and the Braw Lads Gathering is held annually nearby. There is also the Old Gala House, the home of the Lairds of Gala, now a gallery and museum. Another striking focal point is the Bank Street Gardens, a beautiful place to stop during your day. A short distance from here is the Whitlaw Mosses which is a National Nature Reserve, a culmination of four wetland areas – Murder Moss, Blackpool Moss, Beanrig Moss and Lindean Moor.
