Kirkby Stephen is a town in Cumbria, England. Situated 30 miles from Kendal and Penrith, near the southern boundary of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and north of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Kirkby Stephen is a smaller community within the Lake District attracting many tourists to the Upper Eden Valley for the Coast to Coast Walk and visitors to the Mallerstang Dale, Pendragon Castle, Wild Boar Fell and Nine Standards Rigg. The Village of Kirkby Stephen offers the Kirkby Stepehn Poetry Path, the Upper Eden Visitors Centre, St Stephen’s Church and Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team.
