Lochmaben is a town within Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. The town has the benefit of beautiful continuous countryside of which the walking route Annadale Way makes good use of as well as three main Lochs - Loch Castle, Kirk Loch and Mill Loch with a further two smaller lochs – The blind Loch and The Upper loch. Lochmaben was once an important site of Castle, of which the ruins lie under Lochmaben Golf Club Course, was once an important castle having been built by the Bruce’s around 1160’s and thought to be the birth place of King Robert I of Scotland. Lochmaben town centre piece is the Lochmaben Town Hall which is decorated with a statue of The Rev William Graham, but is over-shadowed by the presence of a grander statue of Robert the Bruce just in front of the building.
