Newcastleton
Newcastleton, known by locals as Copshaw Holm, is a village within the Scottish borders. It is on Liddel Water in the Liddesdale Valley. It is also the site of Hermitage Castle’s ruins, thought to have been first built around 1240. Newcastleton is also part of the 7Stanes, a collective of mountain bike centres, offering some of the best downhill and mountain bike trails the UK has to offer. Annual events hosted here include Newcastleton Cycling Festival, The Great Vintage ‘Flying Scotsman Rally’, Craft Fayre and the Newcastleton Music Festival.
