Peebles is a town in Tweeddale, Scotland. The town is situated at the meetings of the River Tweed and Eddleston Water west of the Scottish borders. At either end of the high street there is an old Mercat Cross and the ruined Cross Kirk. Many attractions include Moy Mackay Gallery, Tweeddale Museum & Gallery, The John Buchan Centre and Tweed Valley Osprey Watch within the Tweed Valley Forast Park. Peebles is probably better known for what was Peebles Hotel Hydropathic which offered luxury accommodation and the latest in water cures using water from nearby St Ronan’s Well. Today, Peebles Hydro Hotel is a beautiful spa resort attracting visitors far and wide, ideally placed in the Tweed Valley and only 22 miles from Edinburgh.
